MTS and City Contract Update: Thank you to everyone who came out to today’s MTS meeting to discuss their contract with the City. A special thank you to Lorena Gonzalez for leading the charge in making sure all workers, union or nonunion are protected.

Because of our relentless advocacy over the past two years MTS has finally recognized the very real issues our taxi industry faces but have decided NOT to regulate retaliation, working hours, or unconscionable business practices that result in drivers depending on public assistance just to get by and puts the public at risk. Thanks to Councilwoman Marti Emerald the contract will be going to the City Attorney for review before this item goes up for a vote of the full MTS Board.
